The TRMC Oncology Center is located in Tifton at 1623 Madison Avenue Radiation Oncology: 229-386-1300 Medical Oncology: 229-353-7720
The cancer care program at Tift Regional Medical Center is an approved Community Hospital Cancer Program (CHCP) through the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC).
Equipped with the latest technologies and therapies, the TRMC Oncology Center is staffed by expert medical professionals and is carefully designed to meet the special needs of people receiving cancer treatment and those who support them.

Radiation Oncology:
Using simulation and computerized treatment planning, the Oncology Center utilizes photon and electron radiation beam therapy to cure or control malignant growths. The Center also offers brachytherapy, a special form of radiation treatment that delivers very high dosages of radiation directly to specific tumor sites. Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) is also available to provide high dose radiation to the tumor site while assuring fewer side effects.
Radiation therapy services are under the medical direction of Wesley Walker, M.D., a board-certified radiation oncologist.
Medical Oncology:
Medical Oncology utilizes an outpatient procedure known as chemotherapy, which is the use of drugs to destroy cancerous cells and prevent further growth. Chemotherapy medications are given orally or by injection and can be used in combination with surgery and/or radiation therapy.
Medical oncology/hematology services are provided under the direction of James Milner, M.D. certified in oncology and hematology. Dr. Milner provides medical oversight at the 1623 Madison Avenue location.
Other TRMC cancer-related services:
Other cancer-related services at TRMC include PET/CT Scan, CT Scan, Women's Imaging Center, Mammography, Breast MR, Minimally-invasive breast biopsy, MRI (high-field MRI and open MRI), Oncology surgery, Support, Education and Counseling.
The Oncology Center sponsors a cancer support group, facilitated by an oncology social worker, which offers an open forum for the discussion of issues related to cancer and cancer care. Anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer, family members and/or caregivers are welcome to participate.
The Oncology Center also offers an up-to-date cancer resource library, which offers cancer patients and family members access to the internet, books, videos, pamphlets, and more to research oncology topics.
Our Vision:
The physicians, nurse, and support staff are dedicated to serving the very personal needs of patients. In fact our vision is simply to provide compassionate and competent care in an environment which makes it undesirable and unnecessary for our patients to go anywhere else. Patients continue to rank their experience with us highly, and that patient satisfaction is extremely important to us.
